MatSE Staff Excellence Award

This award recognizes staff members who exhibits at least one of the following: excellent job skills, knowledge of departmental goals, ability to motivate others, creative problem-solving skills, takes a leadership role, dependable and efficient, professional demeanor, positive attitude, enthusiastic and dedicated in carrying out duties, cooperative and courteous interaction with others, good supervisory skills. 

This year, the staff excellence award recipients, Cody Pettenger, engineering support specialist, and Tim Higgins,engineering support specialist and safety officer, have brought so much to our department as a team and as individuals. They have tackled projects with enthusiasm, teamwork, and have contributed innovative ideas with cost savings effects not only to MatSE, but also the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, and Penn State Office of the Physical Plant. We can only imagine what problems they will be solving for us in the future.
